It should come as no surprise to any anglers out there that loads of rods are designed by factory engineers in the far east and tested by men wearing suits in offices: while one holds the butt of the rod, the other bends the tip round and eventually one of them declares ‘that will do!’
The TFG gear tackle range was developed by by two people Matt Hayes and Simeon Bond. Everyone knows Matt Hayes we have all watched him on Total Fishing even if you are a non fisherman. Simeon and Matt have been friends for a very long time . In the 90s, when Simeon was marketing manager for Shimano he gave Matt Hayes a job as a advisor and began Matt’s career that would see him eventually the top of the TV angling tree with shows like Total Fishing using his pike fishing tackle or sitting in his fishing bivvy just waiting for that specimen carp
Matt Hayes was determined that this would not happen with his fishing gear and every product that makes it to the Total fishing gear range has been tried and tested by Matt or other top anglers who are experts in their particular field; the match rods, for example, wheretested by a leading fishing team; the carp blanks have been tried and tested by crazy carp fishermen and, of course, Matt Hayes has put all of the fishing rod blanks through a rigorous trial and personally handled many of the developments.
